Please read these Country Specific Conditions (“Country Conditions”) alongside the General Conditions of Rental (the “General Conditions”) before you sign the Rental Agreement Form. The Rental Agreement Form will include all of the important information about your specific rental. It is important to us that you enjoy your rental experience and that you have all the information you need. It might take you a little time now, but it could save you time later.
These Country Conditions are set out as follows:
Part 1
Important (country specific) information about your rental.
This includes information about costs you may be required to pay and details about your responsibilities.
Part 2
Important information about optional extras (including additional waiver and protection products) we (or our partners) offer.
You can select these to form part of your rental, and you can add these to your original booking, or you can add them at the time of pick-up (or in some cases, they may be automatically included). All optional extras you select will be detailed as part of your Rental Agreement Form, including the price payable.
PART 1 – IMPORTANT TERMS RELATING TO YOUR RENTAL AGREEMENT WITH US
1.RENTAL PROVIDER
Who we are.
Unless otherwise stated on the Rental Agreement, in the UAE, the company that provides you with a rental vehicle is AVIS UAE RENT A CAR CO LLC, PO Box 5009, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“us”, “we”, “our”).
Please note that this company may not be the same company that you made your booking with.
2. RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Booking information
You must bring your reservation number or booking confirmation email with you. Please see the General Conditions for further information.
Driving licences
Requirement to bring a valid driving licence with you:
All drivers must have a valid driving license held for a minimum of one (1) year.
Physical Driving permit should be presented at the time of rental pick up and carried during your rental period.
1. UAE Residents
A valid UAE driving licence is a must.
Please note that driving without a valid UAE driving licence when on Residence or Employment Visa is a violation of the UAE Law & AVIS UAE will refuse to rent.
2. Non- UAE Residents
All non-UAE residents are required to hold a valid International Driving License along with
their National Driving License, except drivers holding driver’s license from the following
countries. Please visit the link UAE Government for on time updates.
Original license should be from the same country as the passport issuing country if not should provide required visa/ID documents to prove valid permanent residency of the country where the licence is issued.

and we cannot confirm with certainty the details included within the driving licence, the driver will also need to provide either an international driving licence or an official English translation, by a notary, of their driving licence. If this might apply to you, please contact us (prior to your pickup date) as we would be pleased to confirm if an international licence or official translation will be required.
Payment cards
You must bring the payment card used to make your booking. Please see the General Conditions for further information.
Pre-authorisations and Security Deposits
Unless confirmed otherwise, the amount of the pre-authorisation taken on pick-up of the rental vehicle is calculated as follows:
(The vehicle rental price* + Between AED 3000.00 and 5000.00 **) MINUS (Any sum you have already paid when making a “Pay Now” booking)
* The "vehicle rental price" includes the vehicle rental cost and all optional extras you’ve requested, calculated at the start of the rental based on the intended length of the rental. For the avoidance of any doubt, any “Pay at Location” amount you owe in relation to the vehicle rental (including any optional extras) will be included as part of the pre-authorisation and will be charged to you at the end of the rental (using the card provided for the purposes of the pre-authorisation, unless agreed otherwise).
** If you buy our “Fuel Up Front” product, we will reduce the Between AED 3000.00 and 5000.00 by the amount we charge you for the “Fuel Up Front” product
The Between AED 3000.00 and 5000.00 is included as part of the pre-authorisation in case we have to charge you at the end of the rental for any of the following:
i. costs to refuel the vehicle (where relevant).
ii. additional rental charges in circumstances where you fail to return the vehicle or any optional extras at the end of the agreed rental period or to the agreed return location.
iii. any additional charges or fines you incur relating to your use of the vehicle (which we have been notified of prior to you returning the vehicle, which will include, for example, charges relating to traffic violations); and/or
iv. costs incurred as a result of exceeding any relevant mileage restrictions.
Where the pre-authorisation we take does not cover the charges you incur, we will request you make a further payment for the additional amounts owed.
In relation to certain high value vehicles, we may require you to provide us with two payment cards for the purposes of the pre-authorisation. Where this is the case, this will be confirmed when making a booking.

Valid form of identification
The following documents are mandatory to rent a vehicle from AVIS UAE and must be presented physically at the counter,
• Valid Passport & Emirates ID.
• All GCC country citizens must present a valid ID and passport at the counter at the time of vehicle pick-up.
• Valid Visa/Entry Documents (UAE entry stamp or visa page).
• Valid Driving license issued at least 1 year before the rental pick-up date.
• Valid International Driving Permit, where applicable, for Renters who are on UAE visit/tourist visa along with local driving licence.
• Valid Credit Card under the name of the renter for security deposit with minimum 03 months validity from the rental start date.
Important: For Renters who opt for delivery, the above-mentioned documents should be emailed to customerservice@avisuae.ae at least two hours prior to the scheduled delivery.
Original copies must be presented during delivery for further verification.
Must submit proof of address to confirm the UAE address for monthly or mini lease rentals.
Driver age restrictions
Minimum driver age restrictions
When you book, you’ll be told if there are any minimum age restrictions for the vehicle you request. If you’re not sure, please check your booking confirmation email – or call our customer support team.
You need to be at least 21 years old to hire and drive most of our vehicles.
Young driver surcharge
If you – or any of your drivers – are under 25 when you pick up the vehicle, you will each have to pay a young driver surcharge. The cost of a young driver surcharge will be built into the price confirmed at booking stage. If you add an additional driver onto the rental at pick up, you may be charged a young driver surcharge (you will be asked to agree to this and is likely to be AED 10 per day.
Maximum driver age restrictions
When you book, you’ll be told if there are any maximum age restrictions for the vehicle you request. If you’re not sure, please check your booking confirmation email – or call the reservations team.
In most cases there is no maximum driver age restriction. If you are renting with one of our affiliates listed in 1. (Rental Provider) there may be a maximum driver age set at either 75 or 80 years of age for insurance reasons.
Driving related convictions
If any driver has any unspent driving convictions for:
• careless, reckless, or dangerous driving,
• driving or attempting to drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs,
• using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks or insurance offences,
• theft or unauthorised taking of a vehicle,
• license offences,
• accident offences,
• failure to provide information offences,
• racing offences,
• been disqualified – or
• if they have two or more unspent convictions for offences not listed above,
they will not be able to drive our vehicles.
Security/credit checks
Save for identity checks (carried out by reviewing your identification and payment card), no other security or credit checks are carried out in the UAE.
3. ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS
Payment methods
We accept all major Credit Cards
• MASTER, VISA,
• JCB,
• DINERS,
• AMERICAN EXPRESS AND
• UNION PAY),
• Avis Charge Cards, Avis Vouchers or Corporate LPO(s), as method of payment(s).
Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) are accepted from companies who are already registered locally/internationally with AVIS UAE and meet all the required criteria.
Credit card should be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the day of Rental and must be physically available at time of vehicle collection. Please note that in all cases, DEBIT CARDS, PREPAID, RECHARGE, APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY or VIRTUAL CREDIT CARDS are not accepted as ‘security’.
Russian Bank credit cards: As advised by international credit and debit card issuers, we are temporarily not accepting credit/debit cards issued from Russia and/or Russian Banks.
In case of refunds, the customer has to provide another acceptable refund platform to Avis UAE subject to approval to process the refund.
Debit cards are not accepted as a mode of security. We do accept debit cards only for payments.
Late payment interest
If you are late in paying us, we reserve the right to charge interest and compensation to the maximum extent permitted by law.
4. DURING THE RENTAL
Value Added Tax
VAT of 5% will be applicable on all invoices related to rental and related services that are generated from 1st January 2018 or any part of the service/invoice fall within/after the 1st January 2018, irrespective of the booking confirmation made earlier.
Airport Surcharge
A surcharge is applicable for all rentals (pick up as well as drop off) at any airport locations in the UAE. This surcharge is applicable only once per rental.

Vehicle Registration Fee
A fee of AED 5 per day or maximum AED 75 per month will be applied to each rental.
Taking your vehicle outside the country
Unless we agree otherwise, you are only allowed to use the vehicle in Oman.
Vehicles are allowed to be driven out of United Arab Emirates to Oman strictly through
request bookings via AVIS UAE Call Centre with advance notification of 72 hours.
Cross border rentals are subjective to a mileage limitation/cap of 250km a day and excess
mileage charge of AED 1 per kilometre **irrespective of the open mileage terms specified under domestic rental and online booking terms.
Confirmation is subject to insurance approval and fleet availability. Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Oman Insurance must to be collected from the assigned AVIS UAE rental locations for verification at the border. AVIS UAE shall not be liable for any charges or compensations for cross border restrictions from authorities.

One-way rentals
A one-way drop-off fee is applicable when renting a vehicle in one emirate/city and dropping it off in another emirate/city within the UAE. Charges depend on the type of vehicle rented and the city limit.

• Vehicles cannot be driven and/or dropped off outside the United Arab Emirates without prior approval and consent of AVIS UAE.
AED 500: FROM- Ruwais, TO- Dubai/Sharjah
AED 300: FROM- Ruwais, TO- Abu Dhabi
AED 2,000: FROM- UAE, TO- Oman except Salalah)
AED 3,000: FROM- UAE, TO- Salalah
Maximum mileage
Many of our vehicles are provided with unlimited mileage for daily and weekly. If a mileage allowance does apply, it will be confirmed during the booking process, and be stated on your rental agreement and in your booking confirmation email.
Mileage allowance
If you go over the mileage allowance, the price depends on the vehicle and location – but you can expect it to cost AED 0.5 fils (for every mile you’ve driven over the allowance. Your excess mileage charge will be stated on your Rental Agreement Form and in your booking confirmation email.
Returns
There will be no refund for unused rental days on a Prepaid/Pay on Arrival Rental, once the rental has started.
If you return the vehicle and any optional extras early, you will lose the benefit of any special offers if you no longer meet their requirements. This may result in the rental costing you more.
Cancellations/No Shows
If you cancel your booking 72 hours prior to your vehicle pick up date/time no cancellation charges will apply and the amount will be refunded.
If you cancel your reservation within 72 hours prior to the rental pick up date/time shown in your booking, a fixed cancellation fee, similar 3-day rental amount will be applied.
Same condition will apply for reservations made and cancelled within 72 hours of the rental pick up date/time.
If you have rented for less than 3 days, no refund will be applicable.
There is no refund if the Renter fails to show up for a rental that has not been cancelled prior to the pick-up date/time
Toll Gate System (SALIK)
All the AVIS UAE vehicles are equipped with automated Toll tag and Toll fee will be AED 6/- per crossing.
Off-road Driving
Not Allowed. Insurance does not cover off road usage of the vehicle and renter is fully liable for any damage or additional costs.
Rule of Road
Drive on the right-hand side.
Traffic Violations
Drivers are expected to abide with the traffic rules and regulations. For every traffic fine a surcharge of AED 50/- is applicable, over and above the traffic fine as a handling administration fee.
If a traffic offence attributable to the vehicle to be impounded by the authorities during the rental, AVIS UAE will ensure that necessary fines are paid to avoid such an impound. The applicable impounding charges will be recovered from the Renter. All ancillary costs generated
30 days from the closing of the agreement will be recovered automatically from the Renter’s credit card without any notification.
After Hours Information
This is subject to AVIS down town locations which are not open 24 hours. For drop-off out of opening hours, the vehicle should be returned to any of the Avis Airport offices which are open24 hours. The Renter can request for a car collection as per Collection terms at extra cost based on location.
Deliveries and Collections
Delivery and Collection services are available, on request, subject to driver and vehicle availability. For Delivery and Collection, reservations must be made via our Call Centre on 800 AVIS (2847) or +971 4 330 7272 or via email on callcentre@avisuae.ae
Delivery and Collection within the city limits of same emirate where the reservation made will be AED 75.
Delivery and Collection in different emirate a one-way fee will apply:
AED 300: FROM-Dubai & Northern Emirates Locations, TO-Abu Dhabi or vice versa
AED 200: FROM-Dubai & Sharjah, TO- Northern Emirates or vice versa
AED 500: FROM-Abu Dhabi, TO- Ruwais or vice versa
AED 800: FROM-Dubai, TO- Ruwais or vice versa
Grace period to return the vehicle
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours) with a maximum grace period of 29 minutes from the elapse of the term agreed. In the event of the late return of vehicle exceeding the grace period, AVIS UAE reserves the right to make an additional daily charge at the prevailing rate, including fees for the options taken for each day.
Valet Charges
Valeting charges will be applied if the Vehicle is returned in a condition that requires specialized cleaning (Example: Sand or mud particles found in the car, pet hair on the seats, tea, coffee, or any other edible items staining the car seats and interior, etc.), Charges would be estimated by the workshop depends on the labour and required material costs and minimum valet charge would be AED 250. If the car is returned with an extremely dirty exterior, there will be a charge of AED 50 as valet charges.
Tire Replacement Service
A surcharge of AED 100 will be charged, over and above the tire repair costs or applicable excess, as a handling administration fee.
Tint Film Removal
A fee of AED 100 will be charged if the rented vehicle is returned with tinted film on the windows.
Rent a car vehicle cannot have tint film on the windows as per UAE law. Renter is liable to bear fine costs and admin fee in the case that tint film is placed on the rented vehicle.
In the event of a breakdown caused by customer fault (or where the breakdown takes place in an unpermitted country)
In the event of a breakdown, please try to park in a safe and secure place. Try to know exactly where you are and contact the Call Centre on 800 AVIS (2847) or +971 4 330 7272. The service is available 24/7; fees vary depending on the location.
Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the United Arab Emirates. Renter may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: If you choose to rely on your credit card for cover, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any cover provided by your credit card company before you decline any of our optional services.
Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
Right to Refuse
AVIS UAE reserves the right to refuse the car to any customer for any reason, including but not limited to:
Who fails to arrive on time or does not produce physical mandatory documents and a valid credit card with sufficient available funds for the security deposit/payments.
Customers under the influence of alcohol, hallucinatory drugs, narcotics, barbiturates, or any other substance impairing his/her consciousness or ability to react
Abusive behaviour towards the Company vehicle or asset /employees
In such a case, unless the rental has been cancelled in advance, the customer will not be entitled to a refund.
5. FUEL AND ELECTRICITY CHARGES
Fuel charges – traditional fuel (diesel or petrol) and hybrid vehicles
As a standard, AVIS UAE has a full-to-full fuel policy. This means that customers are expected to return the car with a full tank of fuel. Service charges apply when a customer miss refuelling the vehicle before return.
AVIS UAE offers customers the option of Advance Fuel Purchase. This is a convenient way to avoid the hassle of looking for a fuel station to top up and prevent any penalties during off-hire. Simply opt for the Pre-Paid Fuel and return the vehicle with the fuel level of choice and avoid any impact on the final invoice. There is no refund on unused fuel.
6. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Damage/Loss/ Repair Processing Fee
Please see the section titled “Damage, loss, injury or theft” in the General Conditions which provides information on how and when we charge costs if the vehicle, keys, any accessories, or any vehicle documents are lost, stolen or damaged.
You can purchase additional waiver and protection products to reduce the amount you would otherwise owe – please see details in Part 2 below.
As well as charging for any damage or loss suffered, we will also charge you a damage processing fee in accordance with our “Theft, Loss & Damages Policy” (see General Conditions). In the UAE, A fee of AED 75 per repair will be charged as an accident/damage handling administration fee, over and above the damage repair costs or applicable excess.
All repairs and maintenance must be carried out only at AVIS workshops. Renter is fully liable for all damages and additional costs in case of own repair, changing parts of the vehicle or maintenance.

Fines and charges
Traffic Violations - Drivers are expected to abide with the traffic rules and regulations. For every traffic fine a surcharge of AED 50 is applicable, over and above the traffic fine as a handling administration fee.
If a traffic offence attributable to the vehicle to be impounded by the authorities during the rental, AVIS UAE will ensure that necessary fines are paid to avoid such an impound. The applicable impounding charges will be recovered from the Renter. All ancillary costs generated 30 days from the closing of the agreement will be recovered automatically from the Renter’s credit card without any notification.
Automated parking fees at different POIs in the UAE
Applicable at any parking facility where billing is linked to the vehicle's license plate or toll tag. Renters are advised to inquire about the applicable tariffs directly with the parking facility before parking the vehicle. An additional administrative fee of 10% will be applied to all payable parking fees.
Keeping the vehicle interior clean
Please note the following:
• Avis operates a non-smoking flee.
• If the interior of the vehicle is especially muddy, dirty, stained, or smelly, and our standard cleaning procedure will not fix it, you will be charged a specialist cleaning charge of up to AED 500.
If you have an accident
A fee of AED 75 per repair will be charged as an accident/damage handling administration fee, over and above the damage repair costs or applicable excess.
Dispute Resolution
We are a member of the European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS) and British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA). These organisations independently review disputes with no additional cost to you. If you make a complaint and are unhappy with our final response you may (dependent on the circumstances) refer your dispute to these conciliation services. PART 2 – IMPORTANT TERMS RELATING TO OPTONAL EXTRAS WE OFFER
If you have opted to buy any of these products (or they are otherwise included as part of your rental), they will be detailed on your Rental Agreement Form. You will be required to expressly agree to the costs of these optional extras before they form part of your rental.
You can find details on the excesses which apply, as well as the costs relating to additional waiver and protection products in respect of each car type, on our website (or please contact our customer support team).
1. OPTIONAL EXTRAS - ADDITIONAL WAIVER & PROTECTION PRODUCTS
i. Damage Waiver
This is a mandatory insurance. The renter will be responsible for an excess between AED 3000- AED 5000. If declined, for any reason, the renter will be responsible for full damage amount. Terms & Conditions apply. Charges depend on the type of vehicle
rented. In case of any accidents and additional damages, a police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities. Limitation of liability shall apply to damage to the rental vehicle, its parts and accessories caused in a road accident. CDW limits renter's financial responsibility to Excess Amount stated on the Rental Agreement. In any case,
CDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, tire and wheel damage, windscreen, wheel cover and rims, damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
Indicative costs
This is a mandatory insurance. The renter will be responsible for an excess between AED 3000- AED 5000.
ii. Super Damage Waiver (SCDW)
This is an optional insurance, sold in addition to the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance. By accepting this, the renter is reducing the liability for damages to ZERO.
Terms & Conditions apply. SCDW Charges depend on the type of vehicle & rental duration. Police report must be obtained by contacting the local authorities. In any case, SCDW DOES NOT COVER damage if the vehicle was driven by unauthorized driver or by authorized driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, damage to the interior of the vehicle, windscreen, tire and wheel damage, wheel cover and rims, damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, broken or lost key, lost or damage car documents, contamination of fuel, either in the event of deliberate intention or negligence.
Indicative costs
Group A-P
Daily -AED 45, Weekly-AED 270, Monthly -AED 600.
iii. Theft Protection waiver (TP)
In most cases, Theft Protection waiver is provided with the vehicle as standard. If it is included, it will be stated on your Rental Agreement Form (and in your booking confirmation).
Theft Protection waiver reduces the amount you pay if the vehicle is stolen during the rental period.
The amount you pay will be the lower of a) the applicable cost payable under the Theft, Loss, and Damages Policy; or b) the excess stated on your Rental Agreement Form.
Indicative costs
This is a mandatory insurance. The renter will be responsible for an excess between AED 3000- AED 5000.
iv. Windscreen protection
This is a coverage option that covers damages caused to the windscreen of Avis UAE vehicle (front, back and side windows only). Terms & Conditions apply.
Indicative costs
Group B-E, K:
Daily -AED 15, Weekly-AED 60, Monthly -AED 130.
Group A, F-J, L-P:
Daily -AED 25, Weekly-AED 100, Monthly -AED 240.
v. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
This is an optional insurance for the driver and the passengers, in respect of death or bodily injury whilst in the vehicle during the rental. Terms & Conditions apply.
Exclusions include:
Intentional self-injury / attempted suicide, physical / mental defect, or infirmity
An accident happening while the driver person is under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.
The number of passengers (including the driver) should not exceed the seating

vii. Roadside Safety Net
This is a coverage option that covers any non-mechanical breakdown while the Renter
has the vehicle. Roadside safety net is a coverage that is meant to assist the Renter for services while they are on the road or during the time of the rental. Services included:
Towing, replacement of flat tires, refuelling service, lost key replacement, jump starts.
This product does not include coverage for negligence, when Renter has not refuelled
the vehicle with the right type petrol vs non-leaded and has caused damage to the
vehicle- we will tow the vehicle but the damage to the engine is not covered.

2. OPTIONAL EXTRAS - SERVICES
Additional drivers
Additional drivers must be approved and specified on the Rental Agreement Form. You must not let anyone else drive the vehicle.
All additional drivers must meet our age, driving licence and ID requirements (additional driver surcharges may also apply).
If we agree to additional drivers, any fees and surcharges will be stated on your Rental Agreement Form.
You will be responsible for all costs – whether they’re down to you or your additional drivers. It is your responsibility to make sure all additional drivers read the terms set out in the Rental Agreement carefully before they drive the vehicle.
We charge a fee for every Additional Driver we allow to drive the vehicle. The price is AED 20.00 per day, per driver up to a maximum of AED 150.00 per month.
Meet and greet
Some rental locations offer a “Meet and Greet” service.

3. OPTIONAL EXTRAS – OTHER PRODUCTS
Special equipment
GPS / Navigation System - GPS rental is subject to availability at all AVIS rental locations at an additional cost of AED 50 per day, AED 250 per week and AED 450 per month. Advance notification of 72 hours is required.
Cost or damaged GPS; AED 1000 charge applies.
Car seats - We offer baby, infant and child seats. A baby seat is typically suitable for a child from birth to 12 months old and weighing no more than 13 kilos. An infant seat is typically suitable for a child aged 9 months to 4 years old and weighing between 9 and 18 kilos. A child seat is typically suitable for a child aged 4 to 11 years old and weighing between 15 and 36 kilos.
In some rental locations, we may arrange for a third party to fit the seat for you. But remember, it is always your responsibility to check the seat is fitted correctly before you drive away.
The fee for renting a seat is AED 35 per day. If you rent the vehicle for more than 10 days, you’ll only be charged for a maximum of 10 days and get to use the seat for the duration of your rental, up to 28 days.
If the seat is damaged, lost or stolen, you will have to pay for a replacement. This is likely to cost AED 550.00 on top of the hire fee.
